Job summary

BSI Consulting Services is seeking an experienced EHS Consultant to support environmental compliance, permitting, and related consulting for industrial and commercial clients. The role includes fieldwork, technical reporting, and direct client engagement, with travel up to 50% to client sites.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related field and 3–8 years of professional environmental consulting experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, chemical, geological, or related engineering; environmental science.
• Three to eight years of professional environmental consulting experience.
• Professional experience working for an environmental consulting firm is required.
• Demonstrated experience supporting regulated industrial or commercial clients.
• Experience preparing environmental permits, plans, reports, or compliance deliverables in one or more environmental media.
• Experience with environmental compliance assessments or regulatory audits is preferred.
• Experience with OSHA compliance, safety programs, or broader EHS consulting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental compliance and consulting projects for industrial and commercial clients
• Interpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental requirements to client operations
• Prepare and support environmental permit applications, plans, reports, inventories, and compliance documentation
• Conduct site visits, records reviews, and environmental compliance assessments to identify regulatory obligations, compliance gaps, and practical corrective actions
• Manage assigned projects and tasks to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations
• Communicate directly with clients, regulatory agencies, and project team members as appropriate
• Collaborate with colleagues across environmental, health, safety, and management systems disciplines
• Expand capabilities in safety compliance and EHS auditing through project experience, mentoring, and training
• Solid working knowledge of environmental compliance requirements in air, water, stormwater, wastewater, spill prevention, hazardous waste, solid waste, chemical reporting, and hazardous materials management
• Ability to research regulatory requirements and translate them into practical, site-specific recommendations
• Ability to plan field activities, organize information, and develop technically sound written deliverables
• Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and client service skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project managers and multidisciplinary teams
• Willingness to learn additional environmental, safety, and auditing disciplines
