Job summary

CNO Financial Group is seeking a Principal IT Security Architect to shape enterprise security strategy, architecture, and standards across the organization. You will design secure solutions for new tech, conduct assessments, and drive policy improvements in a regulatory environment.

The role requires deep security expertise, leadership, and the ability to influence across IT and business stakeholders. Remote work options are available within EST/CST for US locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field; 12+ years in IT with 5+ years as security architect.
• Experience across IAM, IR, vulnerability management, and security operations.
• Familiarity with DoD STIG, PCI/HIPAA guidance; regulatory impacts understood.

Responsibilities

• Define security architectures for complex enterprises and post‑merger integrations.
• Communicate security concepts to executives and technical teams clearly.
• Lead incident response activities and coordinate with Legal and Audit.
• Assess third‑party security risk and ensure regulatory compliance across domains.
• Develop security policies, metrics dashboards, and governance processes.
• Guide senior architects and engineers; evolve security standards and programs.
• Support AI security initiatives with governance and risk mitigation.
