Job summary

Avery Dennison is seeking a Principal Enterprise Data Platform Architect to lead Data Platform Engineering within the Data Excellence & AI Foundations group. You will define and evolve the 10-Layer Data & AI Operating System across multi-cloud environments, guiding teams through modern platform engineering and GitOps practices.

In this role, you will mentor engineers, shape security models (ABAC/RLS) and governance, and collaborate with HR on career progression. Remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in enterprise data architecture and platform engineering.
• Experience leading technical teams in global enterprises.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Strong proficiency in multi-cloud data platforms and AI infra.

Responsibilities

• Own the global architecture blueprint for enterprise analytical and AI platforms across multi-cloud environments.
• Architect and deploy the centralized Metadata Control Plane and automated Data Catalog, coordinating schema lineage and data quality observability.
• Design and govern enterprise AI infrastructure standards, including Vector DBs, Knowledge Graphs, Feature Stores, and RAG pipelines.
• Design and enforce Universal Security Model (ABAC, RLS) with integration of Okta/AD and observability for platform health.
• Serve as Pillar Lead for the Data Platform Engineering squad, mentoring talent and aligning with HR for career progression.
