Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) seeks an Engineering Manager - Owner's Rep to safeguard and advance critical pharmaceutical and life sciences projects. The role leads engineering activities from concept to commissioning, coordinating design, construction, and operations while prioritizing safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

The position is remote with travel 25-50% to project sites, offering hourly compensation in the mid-to-upper range and benefits.

Qualifications

15+ years of progressive engineering experience on large-scale regulated projects.
Experience as Engineering Manager, Owner's Representative, or Design Manager.
Knowledge of cGMP, qualification/validation, utilities, automation, and facilities.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary engineering representative for a major client across design to commissioning.
Develop engineering strategies, governance, and decision-making frameworks.
Ensure solutions are compliant, constructible, and traceable to owner standards.
Lead design reviews, calculations, specs, and deliverables at milestones.
Monitor scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety, addressing variances.
Manage relationships with design firms, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
Support field activities, ensuring installations meet design intent and standards.
