Job summary

Grafana Labs seeks a proven engineering leader to guide a distributed team responsible for the data ingestion layer of a large-scale observability platform. You will blend people leadership with technical direction to drive tooling for collectors, Kubernetes deployment, and a unified command experience.

Collaborate with product, engineering leadership, and GTM teams across regions to shape delivery and customer outcomes, while fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing software engineers and providing career growth feedback.
• Experience leading backend/frontend systems for cloud-based platforms or developer tooling.
• Ability to manage a fully remote, distributed team across time zones.
• Collaborating with product, design, and GTM stakeholders to align work with customer outcomes.
• Guiding teams through full project lifecycle from concept to post-launch iteration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a remote engineering team, providing feedback and career development.
• Partner with GTM teams to drive customer adoption of observability tooling.
• Coordinate fleet management, Kubernetes deployment charts, and instrumentation hub within the product experience.
• Guide ideation, planning, execution, and post-launch phases for high-quality results.
• Foster a psychologically safe environment encouraging learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate across boundaries and partner with other functions to solve customer problems.
