Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the Metadata team, owning discovery API, catalog, lineage, and run history services. You will drive technical excellence, set direction, review designs, and coach engineers to deliver high-throughput, reliable data services for enterprise and multi-tenant customers.

This fully remote role is based in the United States; occasional in-office meetings may occur in New York.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and growing a software engineering team.
• Strong ability to review designs and code and make architectural trade-offs.
• Proven track record delivering complex projects on schedule and at high quality.
• Experience owning production services and driving operational health, incidents and SLAs.
• Ability to plan with product partners, manage a backlog, and drive sprint/quarterly completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of software engineers, owning hiring, onboarding, coaching, career development plans, and regular 1:1s.
• Own project delivery for the team against the quarterly plan, ensuring reliability and latency targets.
• Review technical designs and code with deep product knowledge of the Metadata area and architecture.
• Drive improvement of technical quality, incidents, bugs, tech debt, and post-mortems within SLA targets.
• Partner with product and business stakeholders on planning and maintain a prioritized backlog with high completion rate.
• Communicate engineering vision and status to the team and adjacent teams; highlight business impact.
• Ensure engineering processes (FDLC) are implemented and followed consistently.
• Delegate effectively to build autonomy and a positive, high-trust culture.
• Address performance issues and conflicts promptly and fairly; manage AI tooling adoption to accelerate SDLC.
