Job summary

Fanatics Betting and Gaming is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Sportsbook team in the United States. You will lead an engineering group delivering live markets, events, and real-time data, aligning roadmaps with business priorities and ensuring reliable delivery.

You will mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and own operational excellence, including on-call incident response and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in direct engineering management or technical leadership overseeing software engineers.
• Experience recruiting, mentoring, and developing engineering talent in high-performing teams.
• Strong foundation in mobile or client-service systems and architectural judgment.
• Delivery planning, unblocking engineers, and maintaining quality in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with Agile software development and Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to lead in a fast-growing environment with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers with clear career plans.
• Lead team planning,Ownership, and delivery against commitments.
• Collaborate with product/design/leadership to balance features and tech debt.
• Establish team practices and learning culture with psychological safety.
• Provide technical guidance and contribute to architecture decisions.
• Promote reliability, observability, and incident management across apps/services.
• Improve Agile delivery practices: sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimations, retrospectives.
• Respond to production incidents and changing priorities with clear processes.
