Job summary

Fanatics Betting and Gaming is seeking an Engineering Manager, Client Services, to lead the Sportsbook Client team. You will guide engineers, shape strategy with product and design, and drive delivery of high-quality features across real-time data, markets, and events.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years of direct engineering management or technical leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience hiring, mentoring, and growing engineering talent, building high-performing, inclusive teams.
• Strong technical foundation in mobile or client-service systems, with architectural depth to guide designs.
• Proven track record of delivering plans, unblocking engineers, and driving operational rigor in Agile/Scrum.
• Team-first mentality and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Able to communicate complex technical subjects to engineers, leaders, and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiar with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodologies.
• Thrives in a high-growth environment and can work cross-functionally in an enterprise setting.
• Bachelor’s degree or professional certification, or combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Hire, retain, and develop strong engineers with regular feedback and clear growth plans.
• Lead team execution, ownership, risk management, and delivery velocity.
• Partner with product/design leadership to prioritize work and align roadmaps.
• Establish norms and rituals to support high performance and collaboration.
• Guide architectural decisions and technical quality as a hands-on leader.
• Own operational health, reliability, and observability for team services.
• Improve sprint planning and delivery metrics across client engineering initiatives.
• Drive maintainable systems through design, testing, and deployment in production.
• Prepare teams for high-pressure situations with calm, continuous learning.
• Collaborate with product and stakeholders to grow and improve products.
• Participate in on-call rotation and contribute to OE and incident reviews.
• Occasionally travel to Fanatics offices for conferences and events.
