Job summary

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, backend and distributed systems.
• Ability to set technical direction across multiple teams or domains.
• Outstanding system design and architectural judgment in high-scale environments.
• Experience building secure, reliable production systems.
• Led large cross-cutting technical initiatives from design through adoption.
• Strong engineering judgment on scalability, operability, maintainability, and trade-offs.
• Experience building platforms, services, or frameworks enabling leverage across teams.
• Excellent communicator with technical and executive influence.
• Willing to travel to Fanatics Betting & Gaming offices and events.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for a scalable, fault-tolerant Betting and Gaming platform.
• Lead architecture for cross-cutting systems with long-term reuse.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and Platform to shape priorities and trade-offs.
• Drive design and execution of complex technical initiatives across teams.
• Establish engineering standards, design principles, and reviews to improve quality.
• Identify systemic risks and bottlenecks; guide durable solutions.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence decisions at executive level.
