Job summary

Valon is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Developer Infrastructure team within the Platform organization. You will oversee a high-impact group, shaping internal developer tooling, CI/CD, test infrastructure, and observability, while partnering with security, data, and operations to improve the software lifecycle.

You will mentor engineers, drive architecture decisions, and stay hands-on when needed, ensuring fast, safe, observable, and productive development experiences across Valon’s

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years leading and developing engineering teams.
• Experience building or operating developer platforms, internal tools, CI/CD systems, test infrastructure, release automation, or observability systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud providers such as AWS or GCP, containerization such as Docker or Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern observability stacks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers focused on developer infrastructure, platform tooling, and internal developer experience.
• Own technical strategy, planning, and execution for the developer platform, with emphasis on reliability, security, usability, and measurable productivity gains.
• Mentor and contribute hands-on when needed—guiding architecture, writing code, and debugging systems.
• Partner with engineering leaders to understand friction points and deliver high-leverage improvements.
• Establish processes that improve velocity, quality, and operational readiness.
• Invest in recruiting and developing talent through coaching and feedback.
• Promote a high‑agency culture with clear communication and pragmatic decisions.
