Job summary

McGraw Hill is seeking an Engineering Manager for Sharpen. You will lead software engineering teams building multi‑platform learning experiences across mobile apps, AI web features, and instructor courseware.

This remote role supports applicants authorized to work in the United States. You will drive delivery, team health, and technical excellence while partnering with product and security to meet SOX and SOC 2 requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience and 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead and grow engineering teams in an agile environment.
• Experience with mobile (iOS/Android/Swift), web (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js), databases, AWS, and data.
• Experience operating in a SOX and/or SOC 2 compliant environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop software engineering teams across mobile apps, AI features, and instructor courseware.
• Own team commitments and deliver high-quality work on time.
• Translate requirements into scalable technical solutions and communicate risks clearly.
• Drive architecture decisions across mobile, web, databases, AWS, and data.
• Embed SOX/SOC 2 controls and changing management into daily practice.
• Promote modern development practices, automation, and AI-based efficiencies.
