Ladders is seeking a Director of Project Development to steer complex energy projects from early-stage site control through financial close. The role emphasizes disciplined execution, stage-gated progress, and cross-functional alignment, with a focus on building a developing project team.

The candidate will guide multiple timelines and risk profiles while partnering with executive leadership on strategic decisions, and will operate in a remote work setup within the United States.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in energy generation or large load project development.
• Proven ability to advance projects from greenfield to financial close.
• Strong understanding of the full development lifecycle.
• Experience in nuclear, utility-scale generation, or complex infrastructure preferred.
• Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the stage-gate development process for multiple project sites.
• Drive projects from site control to financial close.
• Manage individual project schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
• Lead cross-functional coordination across various teams.
• Build, manage, and mentor a team of Project Developers.
• Represent project milestones at executive reviews.
• Support the development of new campus-based energy initiatives.
