Ladders is seeking a Director of Project Development to steer complex energy projects from early-stage site control through financial close. The role emphasizes disciplined execution, stage-gated progress, and cross-functional alignment, with a focus on building a developing project team.

The candidate will guide multiple timelines and risk profiles while partnering with executive leadership on strategic decisions, and will operate in a remote work setup within the United States.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in energy generation or large load project development.
• Proven ability to advance projects from greenfield to financial close.
• Strong understanding of the full development lifecycle.
• Experience in nuclear, utility-scale generation, or complex infrastructure preferred.
• Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills.

For our client, we are seeking a Director of Project Development to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space.

This leader will guide the development of complex energy projects from early-stage site control through financial close, with a strong emphasis on disciplined execution and cross-functional alignment. The role will oversee multiple project timelines, budgets, and risk profiles while ensuring milestones are advanced in a structured, stage-gated process. The Director will also help build and mentor a growing project development team and serve as a key partner to executive leadership on strategic project decisions.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $225,000 - $275,000 annually
