Job summary

Reynolds Community College seeks an Emergency Medical Services Teaching Faculty member to teach EMS and Fire Science courses in classroom, online, and laboratory settings and supervise limited clinical rotations. Faculty loads average 15 credits per semester, with possible summer opportunities based on student interest.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in EMS or related field.
• Current NREMT Paramedic and/or Virginia Paramedic certification.
• BLS CPR certification.
• Minimum of five years as a Paramedic.
• Ability to teach EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic courses.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication.
• Knowledge of EMS practices, accreditation requirements, and standards.
• Ability to establish relationships with students, faculty, staff, partners.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Fosters an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach EMS and/or Fire Science courses in classroom, online, and laboratory settings.
• Supervise limited clinical rotations as needed.
• Collaborate in planning, delivery, and evaluation of instruction.
• Provide related services to promote student learning and program operations.
• Maintain a minimum of 10 student engagement hours per week.
