Qualifications

• Nationally Registered Paramedic, and/or VA Paramedic Certification or higher with 1-3 years progressive field experience as a Paramedic in the emergency setting or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Paramedic course content and emergency medical protocols
• Effective instructional and communication skills; Ability to assess student learning and provide constructive feedback
• Familiarity with the National EMS Education Standards and VA OEMS regulations
• Professionalism and a commitment to student-centered instruction
• Teaching experience in a supportive or primary role as an EMT/Paramedic

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on lab instruction and skill validation for EMS students enrolled in EMT and Paramedic programs.
• Ensure compliance with National EMS Education Standards, VA OEMS regulations, and program accreditation requirements.
• Support students in mastering cognitive, psychomotor, and affective competencies in preparation for field internships and certification exams.
