Eastern Kentucky University seeks a part-time faculty member to teach Emergency Medical Care courses remotely. The role requires a state license or NREMT paramedic certification and credentialing to teach EMS courses.

Part-time faculty may teach up to nine credit hours as needed by the department. Applicants should have a doctoral/terminal degree (or a terminal master’s) in a teaching discipline or related field, with specific emphasis on EMS education.

Qualifications

• Must hold doctoral/terminal (for EMC masters is terminal)
• OR masters in teaching discipline or related field
• OR master’s degree with a concentration in teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline)
• Paramedic with EMS educator experience. Preference for KBEMS credentialed EMS Level 2 or 3 Educator.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop EMS licensure class lesson plans - (Essential)
• Deliver all content based upon the National Education Standards for EMS - (Essential)
• Evaluate the competency of students from an affective, cognitive and psychomotor perspective - (Essential)

Skills

Paramedic with EMS educator experience

KBEMS credentialed EMS Level 2 or 3
