Job summary

Walters Hospitality is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to handle intake through resolution for a multi-state team of 900+ members. You will investigate issues, guide leaders on corrective actions, and manage leaves, accommodations, workers' comp, and unemployment claims with discretion and empathy, while maintaining meticulous records.

This full-time role is primarily remote with onsite attendance as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in employee relations or HR with investigations & corrective action
• FMLA/ADA knowledge for leaves and accommodations
• Experience with workers' comp and state unemployment
• Proven case documentation and communication with staff and leaders
• Strong written and verbal communication with discretion
• Comfort using case management systems and HRIS (Paycom preferred) and Google Workspace
• Ability to manage multiple open matters and deadlines
• Eligible to work in the United States (E-Verify)
• Must pass background check
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field; SHRM-CP/PHR a plus

Responsibilities

• Own intake to closure of employee relations matters; investigate as needed
• Coach leaders on corrective action and documentation
• Coordinate leaves and accommodations (FMLA/ADA)
• Manage workers' compensation and unemployment claim processes
• Prepare employer responses and hearing materials for unemployment
• Maintain meticulous case files and rationale in the system
• Escalate sensitive matters for review when appropriate
• Represent Walters with empathy and discretion to staff and leaders
