Job summary

Swoon is seeking an Employee Relations Consultant for a 5-month, part-time remote engagement in the United States. The role focuses on handling employee relations casework, investigations, and issue resolution, with partner collaboration across managers, HR, and stakeholders.

You will independently manage complaints, gather facts, interpret policy, document findings, and recommend actions while maintaining sound judgment and professional communication.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of HR experience with meaningful, hands-on employee relations and investigation experience.
• Experience independently managing employee complaints, workplace investigations, performance/conduct concerns, or similarly complex ER cases.
• Strong working knowledge of employee relations practices, HR policies, and employment-related compliance requirements.
• Ability to assess conflicting information, identify root causes, and make thoughtful recommendations rather than simply escalating every issue.
• Experience advising managers and internal stakeholders on sensitive employee situations.
• Strong documentation skills and the ability to clearly summarize investigations, findings, trends, and recommended actions.
• Comfort working with employee relations data and identifying themes or patterns across cases.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee relations cases from initial intake through investigation, documentation, resolution, and follow-up.
• Investigate employee complaints and more complex workplace concerns, gathering information and identifying underlying issues.
• Partner with managers on appropriate resolutions, corrective actions, and preventative strategies.
• Provide guidance on company policies, procedures, employee issues, and workplace practices.
• Conduct root cause analysis to understand recurring or systemic employee relations issues.
• Maintain thorough, accurate case documentation and ensure required timelines and processes are followed.
• Identify trends across employee relations cases and support reporting and analysis around recurring issues.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand concerns and develop practical, policy-aligned solutions.
• Contribute to updates and improvements to employee relations policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Support more complex matters that may involve legal considerations or coordination with employee representatives.
