Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking an Employee Relations Business Partner (ERBP) to advise and support leaders on disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and involuntary termination reviews. The ERBP will partner with HR, Legal, and ER teams to ensure consistent, values-aligned handling of cases and proactive risk management.

The role requires strong investigative skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently with urgency and prioritization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field with 2 years’ HR/employee relations experience (or a master’s with up to 2 years’ experience).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience supporting leaders with disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations.
• Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and union avoidance.
• Strong communication across all levels and sound judgment in sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ER subject-matter expert guiding leaders on disciplinary actions and performance issues.
• Review disciplinary actions, PIP, and involuntary termination requests using Workday and ServiceNow.
• Collaborate with ER team, HR Partners, Legal, and other departments to align with company priorities.
• Educate employees and stakeholders on policies to ensure consistent application.
• Own and document ER cases in the case management system and Ethics Hotline.
• Analyze ER trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with information gathering for legal complaints and charges.
• Provide backup for ER intake when needed.
• Conduct less complex ER investigations.
