Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an Attorney to join its Emerging Growth & Venture Capital group as part of our Professional (non-partner track) Attorney program. This role focuses on venture capital financings, M&A, and corporate governance for emerging growth companies and investors. The position is fully remote and open to all U.S.

office locations. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of relevant experience and familiarity with NVCA, Series Seed, and Y Combinator documents.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of Emerging Growth/Venture Capital experience.
• Direct AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NVCA, seriesseed.com and Y Combinator forms.
• Experience negotiating and managing preferred stock, bridge and SAFE financings.
• Ability to manage due diligence on M&A transactions and venture financings.
• Experience advising on corporate governance matters.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with partners, lawyers, clients, staff, and third parties.
• Produce deliverables, answer calls, and reply to correspondence timely.
• Analyze complex legal issues and apply research to facts.
• Provide timely, accurate, and well-reasoned work product.
• Be available to ensure timely delivery of services, including evenings and weekends.
• Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and staff.
• Observe firm policies and practices.
