This role focuses on coding and charge submission for CPT, ICD, and HCPCS in the emergency department using Epic, ensuring accurate documentation and optimal reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus three years of coding experience or equivalent.
• RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CIC, COC, CIRCC, RCC, or ROCC certification.

Responsibilities

• Reviews available documentation in Epic to identify all billable ED procedures and services.
• Ensures coded services, charges and documentation meet guidelines or standards.
• Collaborates with Chart Completion to follow up on clarifications with providers.
• Consults with physicians to verify services rendered and documented.
• Maintains five day turnaround times for emergency coding.
• Performs special projects and other duties.
