Job summary

Emerus Holdings, Inc. is seeking a qualified medical coder to review medical records, assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, and capture charges for various services.

You will ensure accurate coding for Emergency Facilities, Inpatient, Observation and Ancillary services while maintaining HIPAA compliance. The role requires 3+ years of coding experience with ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and CPT codes, and proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience coding using ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and CPT codes.
• Experience coding emergency or hospital ancillary services is preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Fluent English with strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to extract data and apply ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes.
• Verify correct CPT-4/HCPCS codes and capture charges for labs, radiology, supplies and procedures.
• Abstract and code diagnoses and procedures from health records using appropriate classifications.
• Attend staff meetings or mandated meetings as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned; work overtime when needed.
