Job summary

NuScale Power seeks a Manager, Nuclear Design to lead the Nuclear Design team within the Nuclear Fuels organization. You will oversee core design, neutronics, and fuel analyses across multiple programs, ensuring licensing basis and regulatory compliance while coordinating with safety, licensing, and plant operations.

The role blends technical leadership with administrative duties, dedicating ~75% to hands-on design work and ~25% to supervision, planning, and staffing.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
• Experience: 10+ years engineering with lead/supervisory experience preferred.
• Industry requirements: Eligible to work under DOE 10 CFR Part 810.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and day-to-day management for engineering staff performing core design, neutronics analysis, fuel design, and related activities.
• Maintain design basis discipline across group work products and ensure compliance with licensed design basis and NRC-approved methods.
• Manage maintenance of core design basis, fuel design specs, and licensing commitments; coordinate with licensing staff on licensing significance.
