Job summary

NuScale Power, LLC is seeking a Refueling and Remote Handling Supervisor to lead a team of engineers designing remotely operated tools for fuel and reactor module handling during refueling outages, including underwater operations.

You will develop engineering deliverables, advance material handling processes, ensure NRC licensing criteria are met, and collaborate with NSSS and RXB groups, QA, regulatory affairs, and operations to achieve outage performance goals.

Qualifications

• Education: a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience: 5+ years in managing complex refueling/remote handling projects or large nuclear projects with multiple interfaces; prior supervision required.
• Industry: eligible to work under applicable NRC licensing criteria (10 CFR Part 810).

Responsibilities

• Supervises a team of professionals and guides technical work toward project goals.
• Develops engineering deliverables communicating design and technical aspects of refueling and remote handling systems.
• Develops material handling processes to support remote refueling of reactor modules.
• Designs and analyzes refueling and remote handling equipment for underwater and potentially radioactive environments.
• Collaborates with NSSS RXB design groups to ensure repeatability and reliability of systems.
• Applies cutting-edge hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical technology in remote tooling design.
