Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Bedford County DHS seeks an Income Maintenance Caseworker to determine eligibility for financial assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, Nursing Home Care, and Waivers. After IMSTP training, you will perform office-based casework with applicants, conducting interviews and ensuring compliant decisions.

You will enter data in automated systems, write case notes, and manage deadlines.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in interviewing or data interpretation.
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Educational requirements may be met within 3 months of graduating.

Responsibilities

• Eligibility Review: evaluate applications for programs such as financial assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, Nursing Home Care, and Waivers.
• Customer Interviews: conduct phone and in-person interviews to gather information.
• Policy Application: interpret and apply state and federal regulations for accurate decisions.
• Data Entry: input information into automated systems and perform calculations.
• Case Documentation: write clear case comments to record changes and decisions.
• Deadline Management: complete work within required timeframes and procedures.
