City of New York’s Department of Buildings seeks a Chief Information Officer to lead the Information Technology bureau, directing a comprehensive technology strategy for 1.1 million buildings and 140+ business units across NYC.

The role focuses on digital transformation, modernization, and improving customer service for property owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and tenants. Remote work may be available up to 2 days per week.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science, business administration, public administration, or related field with relevant IT leadership experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, including at least 4 years in executive/managerial capacity.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience meeting the required executive/administrative criteria.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with the Commissioner and senior staff to develop and implement an IT vision that supports DOB's mission.
• Provide executive direction on IT matters; oversee the IT bureau operations, set plans, goals, resources and controls.
• Lead development of agencywide standards, processes, and performance metrics to align with DOB priorities.
• Promote digital transformation, modernization of legacy systems, and workflow automation.
• Direct cybersecurity measures and compliance with laws and standards; oversee IT budget and vendor contracts; liaison with OTI.

Formation

Master's degree in computer science, business administration, public administration, or related field

Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of IT leadership experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 6 years in executive/managerial capacity
