Job summary

City of New York is seeking a Senior Advisor to the CIO to drive cross‑agency IT governance and strategic initiatives. This executive role coordinates operations, budgets, and project portfolios, reporting to the CIO and partnering with BIT leadership to deliver high‑impact technology outcomes.

The position emphasizes strategic planning, performance measurement, and governance, with ongoing collaboration across IT units while maintaining a focus on cost controls and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in computer science, engineering, HCI, interactive media, data visualization, communications, or related field.
• Four to eight years of full-time experience in IT operations, PM, budgeting, or procurement depending on degree.
• Experience with IT governance, performance measurement, and executive reporting.
• Strong communication and coordination with the CIO and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor day-to-day IT operations across BIT units.
• Develop executive dashboards, scorecards, and KPIs.
• Prepare executive level briefings and presentations for the CIO.
• Represent the CIO in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support budget planning, procurement, and vendor management.
