Job summary

NYC Department of Buildings seeks a Chief Information Officer to lead the IT bureau and drive a comprehensive technology strategy that supports operations for 1.1 million buildings and 140+ business units.

The CIO will oversee cybersecurity, policy, and service delivery, collaborating with senior officials to promote digital transformation and efficient customer service for property owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and tenants.

Qualifications

• Masters in computer science, business administration, public administration, or related field with six years of IT experience, four in executive/managerial capacity.
• Or a bachelor's degree with eight years of IT experience, four in executive/managerial capacity.
• Equivalent combinations allowed with high school diploma and six years of IT leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT bureau operations including staff management, budgeting, and vendor oversight.
• Develop and implement agency-wide IT strategy aligning with DOB priorities.
• Advance digital transformation, modernize legacy systems, automate workflows, and enhance user experience.
