Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants/recipients to determine needs and eligibility.
• Determine eligibility for assistance and benefit levels using automated systems and manual methods.
• Compute income and resources to determine ongoing eligibility for financial and medical programs.
• Explain available benefit programs, rights and responsibilities, and community resources; make referrals as needed.
• Ensure data integrity and detect errors or potential fraud; maintain records per guidelines.
• Respond to appeals; prepare summaries and participate in appeal hearings.
• Attend unit and agency meetings; participate in training and growth opportunities.
• Recommend changes in internal policy based on experience.
• Perform related tasks as required.
