Job summary

ABB is seeking a senior proposals engineer in North America to create and finalize bids and quotations aligned with customer specifications and budgets. You will balance ABB unit and customer needs, craft competitive tender packages, and ensure precise cost documentation for successful quote submissions.

You will collaborate with sales, engineering, and customers, applying your knowledge of MV equipment and protection systems to deliver accurate, market-competitive proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in Electrical Industry.
• Knowledge of SEL Relays and digital relay protection systems.
• Knowledge of medium voltage equipment such as breakers, CTs, relays, etc.
• Experience with proposal generation or requisition engineering preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficient with proposal development tools (SFDC, Empower, Word/Excel, PDF).
• Able to communicate complex concepts to engineers, account managers, contractors, and partners.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
• Authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Create and complete bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specs or budgets.
• Maintain balance between ABB units and customers in the area of responsibility.
• Formulate competitive bids with best product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations.
• Prepare well-documented tenders with full and accurate costs.
• Manage technical, financial, and project management aspects of bids and quotations.
• Identify risks in bids, quotations, estimates, and contracts; participate in risk reviews.
• Provide information for proposal preparation, including technical and cost elements.
• Establish and maintain customer relationships for a positive sales experience.
• Provide technical support to Sales Managers during customer meetings.
