Job summary

Core States Group is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join the Power Systems team. You will support end-of-life analyses, short circuit coordination, arc flash analyses, and other specialized calculations, producing construction documents under guidance from Electrical Engineers and Project Managers.

You will collaborate with Site/Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Architects, and Construction Project Managers to deliver compliant, code-adherent electrical designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems design, preferably with commercial project experience.
• PE license required.
• Revit required.
• AutoCAD and SKM PowerTools is a plus.
• Familiar with switchgear, MCCs, generators, VFDs, UPS is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to identify practical uses for AI tools to improve team processes and decisions.
• Ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy and protect confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical design plans, calculations, reports, and construction documents with limited direction.
• Resolve complex electrical design challenges related to power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, code compliance, constructability, and coordination with other disciplines.
• Conduct site feasibility research and site visit investigations.
• Generate reports and recommendations based on findings.
• Coordinate the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.
• Develop and mentor electrical engineering staff through technical guidance, project feedback, and support of professional growth.
• Lead production staff through assigned tasks and review work for accuracy, completeness, coordination, and quality.
• Other related responsibilities as necessary to fulfill the objectives of this role.
