Job summary

ABB is seeking a skilled field service technician to join our team in the United States. In this remote work model, you will perform field service tasks, diagnose electrical issues, and collaborate with customers to ensure timely service delivery.

You will identify opportunities to improve operations on-site, prepare material lists, and act as a trainer for staff and customers, while maintaining adherence to ABB quality and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 1 year of electrical preventative maintenance, installation and repair, and experience as licensed field service technician.
• Experience with required hand and power tools associated with the electrical trade.
• Strong knowledge and experience of conduit bending (EMT) ability to produce quality day after day.
• Infrared windows experience preferred.
• Valid Journeyman Electrician’s License.
• Working knowledge of current NEC codes.
• Knowledge and experience working in and around 480V commercial switchboards. Industrial experience considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the customer on-site to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.
• Perform field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.
• Prepare material lists needed for service activity and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
• Act as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.
