Job summary

ABB's Electrification Service Division is seeking a field service engineer to perform installation, troubleshooting, and repair of power delivery equipment in the US. The role requires substantial travel and coordination with customers and internal teams, including startup and commissioning activities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency, willingness to travel ~75%, and a commitment to safety and quality in every project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Electrical/Mechanical preferred).
• 2 years field engineering experience preferred. Military service acceptable.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on Power Delivery equipment.
• Coordinate with customers by phone/email to schedule jobs and order materials; perform safety analyses and paperwork before starting work.
• Execute projects hands-on including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment.
• Participate in outages with field engineers, technicians, and contractors; assist project management and site leads.
• Prepare technical reports, quotations, job status updates, and timesheets; maintain timely documentation.
