Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer – Power Distribution for remote work. You will design and support low and medium voltage power distribution products from concept through manufacturing, testing, and certification. The role emphasizes component selection, electrical schematics, and documentation to meet customer needs and standards.

Qualification includes a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 1–2+ years in related design roles, with experience in low/medium voltage

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
• 1–2+ years in electrical engineering, product design, or power distribution equipment design.
• Experience with low/medium voltage AC systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical ratings and develop schematics.
• Experience researching and selecting electrical components for applications.
• Experience with switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, load banks, generators, or related equipment.
• Familiarity with NEC, UL, and similar standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and support low and medium voltage power distribution products from concept through manufacturing, testing, and implementation.
• Research, evaluate, and select electrical components based on application requirements and standards.
• Develop electrical designs, schematics, and technical documentation to support manufacturing, testing, certification, and customer needs.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, quality, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable solutions.
• Support product validation, prototype testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, load banks, generators, and energy storage systems.
