Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer focused on power distribution. You will contribute to the design of low to medium voltage equipment, develop schematics, document engineering deliverables, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.

The role emphasizes testing, certification, and product development from concept through manufacturing, with opportunities for ongoing skill development and ownership of projects.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–2+ years in electrical engineering or power distribution design.
• Experience with low/medium voltage systems and electrical ratings.
• Ability to read and develop electrical schematics and docs.
• Familiarity with NEC/UL and other standards.
• Experience with electrical design software (CAD/Electrical).

Responsibilities

• Design and support low/medium voltage power distribution products from concept through manufacturing and testing.
• Research, evaluate, and select electrical components per requirements and ratings.
• Develop electrical designs, schematics, and technical documents for certification and customer needs.
• Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, quality, and cross-functional teams.
• Support product validation, prototype testing, and continuous improvement.
