Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer – Power Distribution to design, develop, and test low and medium voltage power distribution equipment from concept through manufacturing. You will prepare schematics, document electrical designs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 1–2+ years of related experience, with knowledge of NEC/UL standards and familiarity with AutoCAD

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years in electrical engineering, product design or power distribution equipment design.
• Experience with low and/or medium voltage AC systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical ratings and system designs.
• Experience selecting electrical components for specific applications.
• Familiarity with NEC, UL and other electrical standards.
• Experience developing electrical schematics and technical docs.
• Proficiency with electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN).

Responsibilities

• Design and support low and medium voltage power distribution products from concept through manufacturing, testing and implementation.
• Research, evaluate and select electrical components based on requirements and ratings.
• Develop electrical designs and documentation to support manufacturing, testing and certification.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers and quality teams to deliver reliable solutions.
• Support product validation, prototype testing and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, load banks, generators and related equipment.
• Ensure designs comply with code requirements and industry standards.
