Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer – Power Distribution to join our team. You will design and support low and medium voltage power distribution products from concept through manufacturing, testing, and implementation, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and quality teams to ensure reliable and cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering with 1–2+ years of experience in power distribution equipment design,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–2+ years in electrical engineering, product design, or power distribution equipment design.
• Experience with low/medium voltage AC systems and electrical ratings.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and develop documentation for manufacturing and certification.
• Familiarity with NEC, UL, and other electrical standards.
• Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or EPLAN.
• Experience designing switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, or related power distribution products.
• Knowledge of component derating and design considerations.
• Experience with documentation for manufacturing, testing, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and support low and medium voltage power distribution products from concept through manufacturing.
• Research and select electrical components based on requirements and standards.
• Develop electrical designs, schematics, and engineering deliverables for manufacturing, testing, certification, and customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and cost-effective power distribution solutions.
• Support product validation, prototype testing, and troubleshooting.
