Job summary

Applied Engineering is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our remote-friendly team. You will lead electrical design and validation across major subsystems, translate requirements into practical architectures, and own drawings, BOMs, and specifications.

This role emphasizes collaboration with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and project teams. You will mentor early‑career engineers, support planning and estimation, and stay current with power systems, microgrids,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of industrial experience in electrical design or electromechanical systems.
• Experience with switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, loadbanks, and generators.
• Experience with NEC, UL, and industry derating criteria.
• Proven design documentation, reviews, testing, validation, and troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and validation for major subsystems and product areas.
• Translate system requirements into robust electrical designs.
• Own schematics, drawings, calculations, specifications, and BOMs.
• Drive design reviews, trade studies, prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and project teams.
