Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to develop and drive world-class safety programs across manufacturing facilities. You will lead strategy, enforce a culture of proactive safety, and oversee governance of EHS standards and training.

You will report to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety and mentor EHS teams, with significant travel. A BA/BS in safety or engineering is required, plus 10 years of EHS experience and CSP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years management of others.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs with a focus on client success.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, written and oral communication, including presenting technical info.
• Openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability.
• Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making.
• High work ethic and commitment to company.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Drive a proactive safety culture across all sites with engagement and accountability.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigate with PSM and industrial hygiene practices.
• Develop and govern integrated EHS management systems using data analytics and digital platforms.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance of EHS standards and policies.
• Oversee incident investigation and root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor EHS professionals and ensure high-quality training programs.
• Travel up to 50% domestically.
