Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs and ensure compliant, proactive EHS initiatives across manufacturing facilities and operations. The role reports to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety and partners with EHS staff and operations leadership.

You will drive a behavior-based safety culture, oversee risk assessments, and implement integrated EHS systems with data analytics. Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years in management.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs while focusing on client success.
• Excellent written and oral communication, listening and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy.
• Drive a proactive safety culture and employee engagement.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigation.
• Develop and govern EHS management systems with data analytics.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance of safety standards.
• Oversee incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Mentor EHS professionals and leadership teams.
• Travel up to 50% to domestic sites.
