Job summary

GAF seeks a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs and ensure compliance across manufacturing facilities and operations. You will shape strategy, oversee EHS initiatives, and foster a proactive, behavior-based safety culture while reporting to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety.

You will mentor EHS professionals, drive governance of EHS systems, and manage regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Safety, Engineering, or a related degree field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years management of others.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities while focusing on client success.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to build relationships and trust with stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, listening and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Drive a proactive, zero-incident safety culture across sites.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigation with Process Safety Management.
• Develop and govern integrated EHS management systems and tools with data analytics.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance over safety and environmental standards.
• Oversee incident investigations and root-cause analyses with preventive actions.
• Mentor and coach EHS professionals and leadership; deploy training programs.
• Travel up to 50% domestically.
