Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs and ensure compliance across manufacturing facilities. The role reports to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety and drives a proactive safety culture with data-driven actions.

The position oversees enterprise EHS programs, audits, and training across sites, championing a behavior-based safety approach and continuous improvement efforts. 50% travel required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or Engineering or related field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years in management.
• Strong communication and organizational skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Openness to change and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to travel 50% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business goals.
• Drive a proactive safety culture across sites through engagement and accountability.
• Lead enterprise risk assessment and integrate PSM and industrial hygiene best practices.
• Develop and govern integrated EHS systems with data analytics for actionables.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance of safety/environmental standards.
• Lead incident investigations with root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Mentor EHS professionals and provide high-quality training programs.
