Job summary

GAF's Director of EHS Operations is responsible for developing, implementing, supporting world-class safety programs, and ensuring compliance across GAF manufacturing facilities and operations. This role leads the strategy and oversees execution of EHS initiatives, fostering a proactive behavior-based safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Safety, Engineering, or a related degree field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years management of others.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities while focusing on client success.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, listening and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business objectives and safety goals.
• Champion a proactive, zero-incident safety culture across all sites.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigation processes with Process Safety Management and industrial hygiene practices.
• Develop and govern integrated EHS management systems using data analytics and digital platforms.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance of safety and environmental standards through audits and analyses.
• Oversee incident investigation and reporting, conduct root cause analyses and drive corrective actions.
• Mentor EHS professionals and operational leadership, delivering high-quality training.
