Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to develop and implement world-class safety programs across manufacturing facilities and operations. You will lead strategy, drive a proactive safety culture, and oversee governance of EHS initiatives reporting to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety.

The role requires strong leadership, risk management, and the ability to influence across functions, with 50% travel and national scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Safety, Engineering, or a related degree field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years management of others.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities while maintaining client success.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills for stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication including technical discussions with employees, government reps, and customers.
• Open to change, flexible and adaptable.
• Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite Office.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
• Champion a proactive zero-incident safety culture across sites.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and embed PSM and industrial hygiene best practices.
• Govern integrated EHS management systems and use data analytics to monitor performance.
• Ensure robust regulatory compliance and governance over safety standards and policies.
• Oversee incident investigations and conduct root-cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Mentor and coach EHS professionals and leadership on safety training.
• 50% Domestic Travel.
