Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs across our facilities. This role will shape strategy, drive a culture of safety, and ensure compliance with corporate EHS standards, reporting to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety.

The candidate needs a BA/BS in Safety or Engineering, 10+ years in EHS with 5+ managing others, strong communication, and data-driven decision making. This remote US-based role requires up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering or related field.
• 10 years EHS experience with 5 years managing others.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business goals.
• Drive a proactive safety culture across all sites.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessments and mitigation.
• Develop and govern integrated EHS management systems and tools.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance of safety standards.
• Oversee incident investigations and root cause analyses with corrective actions.
• Mentor EHS professionals and deploy training programs.
• Travel up to 50% domestically.
