Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of EHS Operations to lead world-class safety programs across manufacturing facilities and operations in the US. You will shape and implement safety strategies, drive a behavior-based safety culture, and oversee governance of EHS systems and regulatory compliance.

This role reports to the Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety and supports other EHS staff. You will mentor EHS professionals, lead risk assessments, and guide corrective actions while engaging

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Safety, Engineering, or a related degree field
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years management of others
• Ability to adapt to changing needs while focusing on client success
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated openness to change and adaptability
• Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite Office
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Commitment and work ethic to support the company goals

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business objectives and safety goals
• Drive a proactive, zero-incident safety culture across sites
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigation with Process Safety Management
• Govern integrated EHS management systems using data analytics and digital tools
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance of EHS standards and policies
• Oversee incident investigation and root-cause analyses with corrective actions
• Mentor EHS professionals and operational leaders with effective training programs
• Travel approximately 50% to domestic sites
