Job summary

Pearson is seeking remote scorers to evaluate teacher candidate responses and apply scoring standards. The role runs Monday through Friday on a single day every two weeks, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM EST, including training. Starting rate is $17.50 per hour, with ongoing need noted.

Active or recently retired practitioners may qualify, and Florida Department of Education approval is required. This part-time remote position begins in fall 2026 with ongoing applications accepted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and active teaching certification in the relevant subject area.
• Five or more years’ recent public school experience in the subject area.
• Alternately, college/university position in the same subject with at least 5 years of teaching.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Florida teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and engage with other scorers.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring.
