Job summary

ECLARO is seeking an experienced Professional Fee Medical Coder with ED coding expertise for a remote, 6‑month engagement. The role focuses on coding Emergency Department professional fee services using Epic and Optum, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS, and can work independently in a fully remote environment while meeting productivity targets.

Qualifications

• Active, recent experience as a Professional Fee Medical Coder.
• Direct experience coding Emergency Department (ED) professional fee services.
• Experience with Epic and Optum for professional coding and code selection.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely professional fee coding for Emergency Department services.
• Review documentation and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on applicable coding guidelines.
• Apply knowledge of Emergency Department coding, including evaluation and management (E/M) services and other professional fee charges.
• Use Epic and Optum systems to review documentation, process professional fee charges, and select appropriate codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable coding standards and organizational policies.
• Work effectively in a high-volume environment while meeting established productivity and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with clinical and coding teams as needed to resolve documentation or coding questions.
