Job summary

HIMpros is seeking an experienced ED Coder to join a healthcare client in a fully remote capacity. You will review Emergency Department records and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, ensuring compliance with evolving payer requirements and coding guidelines.

The ideal candidate holds active CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification with at least 2 years of ED coding experience and a proven ability to work independently from home. Epic and/or 3M familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must hold active CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification.
• At least 2 years of ED coding experience required.
• Strong knowledge of ED coding guidelines, E/M leveling, ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Experience working remotely and managing workload independently.

Responsibilities

• Review ED records and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure coding complies with guidelines and payer requirements.
• Collaborate with providers for documentation clarification.
• Maintain quality and meet turnaround times; participate in audits as needed.
