Job summary

CVS Health's Aetna Mental Well-being unit seeks an experienced EAP Clinical Counselor for a fully remote role in the USA. The incumbent will provide counseling and information via phone, video, or chat to members, coordinating resources to support care and lifestyle management needs.

The role requires licensure, crisis intervention experience, and a commitment to privacy, documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely, high-quality mental health services

Qualifications

• 1+ years of crisis intervention experience.
• Valid unrestricted independent behavioral health licensure per state regulations (LPC/LMFT/LCSW/LMHC/LCMHC/LICSW/LISW/Clinical Psychologist).
• 24x7x365 call center coverage required, holiday coverage expected.
• Experience facilitating positive behavior change.
• Experience with mental health, psychiatric care, family situations and relationship concerns preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephone-based assessment, triage, counseling and informational services in a call center setting.
• Conduct risk, substance use and mental health assessments to inform safety plans.
• Understand levels of care to guide appropriate care recommendations.
• Build rapport with members and provide information on mental health resources.
• Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure continuity of care.
• Multitask: type/document while assisting members on calls.
• Protect confidentiality and adhere to policies.
• Maintain documentation meeting risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain current independent behavioral health license in good standing.
